Where do I even begin?! I can’t believe I’m celebrating 10 years of Katelyn Anne Photography this month!! I captured my very first wedding in July of 2013. Now 10 years & 175 weddings later, I am beyond grateful that the Lord still allows me to be a wedding photographer!!

If I took the time to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey, I would never be able to end this blogpost! But I do want to take the time to thank a few special people who have cheered me on these past 10 years. First, to my husband Dylan – you have supported this business from my very first wedding. I could never thank you enough for your constant encouragement, the MANY hours you’ve spent researching equipment & giving me tech support, & for always reminding me of the Lord’s faithfulness when I find myself overwhelmed with running a business. You’re the best!!

To mine & Dylan’s awesome families – y’all are all a part of the Katelyn Anne Photography team! You each support me & help me in so many ways. I’m so thankful for y’all!! To my Katelyn Anne Brides & Grooms – it has been the greatest honor to capture your wedding days & get to walk alongside each of you during your wedding seasons. Your trust in me has allowed me to keep doing this job full-time for 10 years. THANK YOU!

And lastly, to my photography & vendor friends – I am so thankful for our Mississippi wedding community!! Getting to work with each of you is a joy & blessing to me!

I wish I had time to include photos from all 175 weddings I’ve captured, but I did want to share a “few” favorite photos & moments in this post to celebrate how far Katelyn Anne Photography has come in these 10 years!

2013

I captured 3 beautiful weddings in the summer of 2013, before my senior year of college!

2 of my very first Katelyn Anne Couples!!

I got to capture the proposal of my dear friends Will & Anja & take their Save the Date photos. Since then, I’ve captured their growing family multiple times – so special to me!!

My longtime best friend Jenna trusted me to capture her engagement photos!!

Some favorite photos I took during that first year of business!

2014

In 2014, I captured 6 weddings!

This is the second camera I owned, a Canon 6D. I shot my first few weddings with a Canon Rebel!

My first publicized photos – I was so excited!!

2 of my favorite engagement sessions from that year!

A few of my favorite wedding photos from 2014 – forever thankful for these couples allowing me to be their photographer!

One of my first ever bridal sessions & still one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. I remember feeling so fulfilled after this session. This is really when I fell in love with being a Mississippi wedding photographer!

2 couples so special to me! Dylan’s cousin Jacob & his wife Jenn trusted me with their proposal, engagement session & wedding day. I got to capture my friends Emily & Tyler’s proposal in the rain on the steps of the church we now call our church home.

2015 – 2016

During 2015 & 2016, I captured 22 weddings during each year. Dyl started helping me as my wedding day assistant in 2015, the year we got married!

I went full time at the beginning of 2016! In May, I launched my new brand & website. That summer was SO crazy! During the course of about one week, we bought our house, spent a fews days & nights painting it, travelled to Houston to shoot a wedding, came home to pack, & moved! I loved getting to decorate my home office where I met with brides in person for a couple of years!

That time I captured my friends Heather & Rayner’s proposal from underneath a tractor haha! Such a fun memory!!

Some favorite engagement photos from 2015!

One of my all-time favorite bridal portraits of my friend Kate!

Some of my fave wedding photos from 2015:

Dyl helped me with a few weddings in 2014, but after going from 6 weddings in 2014 to 22 weddings in 2015, he stepped in to help me at almost every wedding – so thankful! We have a lot of fun memories from his time doing weddings with me!

So special getting to capture our cousins’ Jacob & Jenn’s big day! Love our family!!

I officially went full time at the beginning of 2016 so I could fully focus on growing my business! I launched a new brand & website that summer!

2016 is the year I feel like I became clear on what I wanted my photography style to be – bright, joyful, & timeless!

Some fun behind-the-scenes moments! Dyl still helped me at most weddings, but my friend Sarah-Kate stepped in to help me when he couldn’t. She was such a gift to my business!

After we moved into our house during the busy summer of 2016, I knew I wanted my home office to be a place of inspiration for me!

2017 – 2019

During this season, I shot around 20-25 weddings per year. I also started sharing “best of weddings” blogposts at the end of each year which has become one of my favorite traditions!

2020 was a big year! I captured 11 weddings (Best of Weddings 2020). March of 2020 is quite a memory! We found out we were expecting on Monday, March 2, I launched my new website on Thursday, March 5, & we left on Friday, March 6 for our trip to Charleston & came home on Wednesday, March 11, I shot a wedding on Saturday, March 14, & the world shut down on Sunday, March 15. What a CRAZY two weeks I’ll never forget!! Ellie was born that November, & I was able to take about a 3 month long maternity leave at the end of year!

We had 3 weddings before Covid hit!!

LOVE my website designed by MK Design Studio!

It’s crazy that we didn’t know this would be our last wedding pre-Covid!

Thankful for my friend Reagan & that we got to shoot a wedding together while both pregnant with our girls who are now sweet friends!

Forever thankful for my friend Jeff Chao who has helped me in numerous ways in my business & who also stepped in to help us shoot a couple of weddings during the end of my pregnancy!

My LAST wedding before having Ellie! I was 35 weeks & very big haha! Would have never made it through without Kendall & my friend Meridith who stepped in to help us!
