Our daughter Ellie Grace Hambick made her arrival on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 4:11pm! She weighted 7 pounds & 13 ounces & was 20 inches long. We have been overwhelmed by all of the love & support we’ve received from family & friends as we’ve become a family of 3, & I can’t believe that tomorrow, our baby girl will be 3 weeks old!! I’ve shared SO many photos on social media since she was born, but I also wanted to blog about Ellie’s birthday & share photos from the hospital & the day we came home!

Dylan & I headed to the hospital super early that morning – we couldn’t believe the day had finally arrived that we’d get to meet our daughter!! After laboring for most of the day, I ended up having a c-section & Ellie was here! Dylan was the BEST encourager throughout the entire day, & he also somehow managed to take photos on both my camera & phone (obviously he was the only one allowed in the hospital with me because of Covid). I’ll never forget the moment we saw Ellie for the first time. It was the best moment of our lives! She was perfectly healthy – praise the Lord! Dylan got to hold Ellie first, & then Ellie & I got to do skin to skin which was truly incredible. Dylan captured a video of the nurse laying Ellie on my chest & I will absolutely cherish it forever.

Once we were in our postpartem recovery room, our families were able to see Ellie for the first time through the window (thank goodness our hospital was all one story!) & even watch the nurse give her her first bath! Dylan had gotten me a necklace with Ellie’s birthstone – the sweetest. We spent a couple of days in the hospital so that I could recover, & then on Friday afternoon, we were able to take our girl home!! Our families came over shortly after we got home to FINALLY get to meet her, & those moments were so very special. They had cooked us an amazing dinner & decorated our house & yard. They truly went above & beyond to take care of us once we got home & make us feel so loved!!

It’s been a whirlwind of a few weeks as we’ve adapted to having a newborn! We are definitely tired, but having Ellie here makes it ALL worth it. We are so in love with her & so grateful to the Lord for His continued faithfulness throughout my pregnancy, her arrival, & these early days of parenthood. He’s truly giving us everything we need & sustaining us!

Ellie Grace Hambick – you’ll never fully understand how much we love you, but we pray that you realize early on that the love we have for you is just a small glimpse of the love your Father has for you. We can’t wait to watch you grow & become all He wants you to be!!
