Oh what a SWEET day this was getting to capture Shelby & Elijah’s Brandon, Mississippi summer wedding!! You probably remember these two from their gorgeous engagement session last fall! The JOY of the Lord just shines through Shelby & Elijah, & I knew their wedding day would be full of His presence & peace. I’m SO excited to share all of my favorite moments from their celebration today!!
I’ve known Shelby for years, but from the moment I first saw she & Elijah together, I could tell there was something different about them. Their relationship is truly centered around Christ & bringing Him glory! I loved how their wedding day was the perfect representation of that. As Shelby’s bridesmaids, sister, & mom prayed over her before the ceremony began, the presence of the Lord was so evident! The ceremony was a true reflection of Shelby & Elijah’s love for Christ. Once they exchanged vows & rings, their first acts as husband & wife were taking communion followed by praying together. There is no better way to begin a marriage!
There were a few details that made this day so special! Shelby asked me to take a photo of her engagement ring alongside her mother & grandmother’s engagement rings, a photo that was also taken at Shelby’s sister Lacey’s wedding. What an amazing legacy of God-honoring marriages their family is living out! Elijah & his dad built the stairs that were placed at the alter, & Elijah & Shelby’s dad built the beautiful wooden cross that was the focal point of the ceremony. Both Shelby & Elijah wrote thoughtful letters of gratitude to not only their own parents, but to their soon-to-be in-laws. It’s so evident that Shelby & Elijah are a couple full of grace & humility!
Following their beautiful ceremony in Shelby’s parents’ church in Morton, Mississippi, guests made their way to The Vault Venue in downtown Brandon for the reception! It was SUCH a great night complete with amazing food, delicious cakes, & fun dancing by all! But my favorite part was at the very end of the night. As guests were lining up outside for Shelby & Elijah’s grand exit, the new Mr. & Mrs. Parker shared one final dance together. The only other people in the room were myself & a handful of vendors who had already begun cleaning up, but we all stopped with tears in our eyes to watch this sweet couple share one final moment on their wedding day. I will forever be grateful that I got to capture every moment for Shelby & Elijah!
Mr. & Mrs. Parker – it was truly an honor to be your wedding photographer!! I cannot wait to see all that the Lord has in store for your marriage as you continue to surrender your lives to Him. He will continue to be faithful & guide you! I hope y’all will love reliving your beautiful wedding day through these images for years & years to come!!
