What a gorgeous day Saturday was for Channing & Jonathan’s summer wedding in Brandon, Mississippi! The entire wedding day was held at Jonathan’s families’ property which was super special. I shared more of this sweet couple’s story when I blogged their engagement session last month – the Lord led a California girl & a Mississippi guy to meet in Hawaii!! Their day was greatly anticipated by all of their friends & family who were so excited to celebrate with Channing & Jonathan!!

Channing & her bridesmaids got ready in the most beautiful bridal suite that Jonathan’s mom had created for them at their house! After Channing’s sweet mom & best friend helped her get ready, she shared a precious first look moment with her dad & showed him that she was wearing his grandmother’s ring to honor his side of the family. Then it was time for Jonathan to see his bride!! After their first look, Jonathan washed Channing’s feet, & they shared a time of prayer together. As I captured the moment from afar, I was reminded how marriage is a picture of Christ’s love for His bride, the church. Just as Christ gave His life for us, a bride & groom are called to lay down their lives for each other. It was evident that Channing & Jonathan desire to live that out in their marriage!

Their beautiful ceremony took place under the trees on Jonathan’s families’ property, & in the midst of the hot Mississippi summer weather, the Lord provided a constant breeze! It was amazing to feel His presence!! Before Channing & Jonathan said their vows, the pastor asked the congregation to pray over them & their marriage. Channing & Jonathan then took communion as their first act as husband & wife!

After they were announced as Mr. & Mrs. Harris, we were able to take the most beautiful “just married” portraits in the community garden that the Harris family provides on their property! The sunset was so gorgeous – another reminder of God’s faithfulness & blessing over Channing & Jonathan’s marriage!! The catering, florals, & decor for their tented reception were provided by the awesome Fresh Cut Catering & Floral. An ice cream truck served Jonathan’s favorite dessert which was delicious! As everyone danced the night away, it was the perfect ending to the new Mr. & Mrs. Harris’ big day!!
