Jackson, Mississippi wedding photographer

Y’all I am SO excited to introduce you to this sweet couple!! I am extremely honored to get to be Jessica & Melvin’s wedding photographer, & I had a blast capturing their downtown Jackson, Mississippi engagement session! We spent the afternoon going to some of my favorite downtown spots. I absolutely loved my time with these two!

I’ve known Jessica since our days at Mississippi College! We got to know each other through several on-campus groups & events we were both a part of! She’s always been the sweetest & friendliest!! Jessica & Melvin met at an event Melvin was hosting in Belhaven called Natives & Newcomers. When they reached out to me about being their photographer, I was so excited! I finally got to meet Melvin at their engagement session, & he is just awesome! Together, he & Jessica make such an amazing pair.

Melvin went all out in surprising Jessica for their proposal! He coordinated with Jessica’s friend, the owner of Monkee’s of Ridgeland, to plan a fake photoshoot! They sneakily had Jessica pick out an outfit and even had her get her hair and makeup done. In the middle of the photoshoot, he came up behind her and proposed! Melvin also coordinated getting about 40 of Jessica friends there to celebrate afterwards! How special is that?!

I absolutely cannot wait for Melvin & Jessica’s New Year’s Eve wedding!! Their ceremony will be at St. Andrew’s Cathedral and their reception will be at the Mississippi Children’s Museum. It’s going to be a blast ending the year celebrating them & capturing their big day!!
